If you are currently using Insulet (Omnipod®) Provided Glooko® to download your Omnipod® patient's data, you can continue to do so. However, there are important updates regarding your Insulet Provided Glooko account below, including a special offer to upgrade to a direct account with Glooko.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
For Insulet Provided Glooko accounts, the guidelines for Glooko are to provide support for BGM and CGM users that are also Omnipod® users. Up until now we have not had the ability to segment these users from non-Omnipod® users.
In alignment with our agreement with Insulet, professional users with Insulet Provided Glooko® will be able to access/view patient data solely from Insulet device users (Omnipod® devices and the Insulet user's associated BGM or CGM device). Clinics using Insulet Provided Glooko will have the ability to access/view Insulet patient data and will not be able to view non-Insulet patient data. Non-Insulet patients will still have access to the Glooko Mobile App and can share their data manually with clinics.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
Insulet Provided Glooko is a special partnership program between Insulet and Glooko, to provide the Glooko platform to Insulet device users for the management of the Omnipod® data. As part of the agreement between Glooko and Insulet, all clinics accessing Glooko via Insulet Provided Glooko should be limited to Insulet users only (Omnipod® devices and the Insulet user's associated BGM or CGM device).
Clinics interested in adopting a direct Glooko account, like our Glooko Enterprise offering will be able to access patient data from ALL compatible devices, including for patients who do not use any Omnipod® devices.
Glooko Enterprise enables care teams to effectively manage their entire diabetes population during and in-between appointments. Enterprise supports decision-making, aligns with patient care goals and can help you achieve operational excellence aligned with value-based care.
We continuously update and revise our software to be in compliance with all regulatory, legal, and security requirements. This action is to comply with the contractual obligations we have with Insulet as part of the Insulet Provided Glooko agreement and ensure that providers only have access to Insulet patient data. We understand how this may impact some accounts, hence our early and ongoing communications to clinics using Insulet Provided Glooko® accounts about this change.
WHY CAN’T I VIEW A PATIENT’S DATA?
Insulet Provided Glooko® is a special partnership program between Insulet and Glooko, to provide the Glooko platform to Insulet users for the management of the Omnipod® data. As part of the agreement between Glooko and Insulet, all clinics using Insulet Provided Glooko will have the ability to access/view solely Insulet patient data and will not be able to view non-Insulet patient data. Non-Insulet patients will still have access to the Glooko Mobile App and can share their data manually with clinics.
Clinics interested in adopting a direct Glooko account, like our Glooko Enterprise offering, will be able to view patient data from all compatible devices, not only Insulet devices.
UNDER THE CURRENT INSULET PROVIDED GLOOKO® SUBSCRIPTION MODEL, WHAT DATA CAN I SEE FOR PATIENTS WITH AN INSULET DEVICE?
Under the current Insulet Provided Glooko® subscription model, a clinic can see all relevant patient data*. There will be no changes or updates to how this data is viewed or what data is available if they are patients that are “compliant” as described above (Insulet users and their associated BGM/CGM). The only visibility that will be limited is data associated with non-Insulet users.
For any non-Insulet users, they can continue to manage all their device data through the Glooko Mobile App. Non-Insulet users can still manually share their data with their providers through the PDF export functionality within the GlookoMobile App.
*If a patient has an Omnipod® device associated with their account, then a provider using an Insulet Provided Glooko account should be able to see any/all data in that account (pump/pens/CGM/etc. in that account).
HOW RECENTLY MUST AN INSULET DEVICE BE UPLOADED IN ORDER TO SEE PATIENT DATA?
Insulet Provided Glooko® account users will have access to remote patient data for all patient accounts associated with an Insulet device (Omnipod® devices and the Insulet user's associated BGM or CGM device) as long as an Omnipod® device has synced with the patient account in the past year. Providers will be able to view any data, including historical, within that account.
WILL CLINICIANS HAVE THE ABILITY TO VIEW HISTORICAL PATIENT DATA (FROM AN OMNIPOD® OR OTHER DEVICES) IF THEY DON’T HAVE A RECENT OMNIPOD® UPLOAD?
Insulet Provided Glooko® account users will have access to remote patient data for all patient accounts associated with an Insulet device (Omnipod® devices and the Insulet user's associated BGM or CGM device) as long as an Omnipod® device has synced with the patient account in the past year. Providers will be able to view any data, including historical, within that account.
However, visibility will be limited for any non-Insulet patients. Non-Insulet patients will still have access to the Glooko Mobile App and can share their data manually with clinics. However, clinicians will not be able to view patient data associated with another insulin delivery device and/or insulin pens.
MY CLINIC IS ON AN INSULET PROVIDED GLOOKO® SUBSCRIPTION MODEL, HOW CAN I SEE PATIENT DATA FOR PATIENTS WHO DO NOT USE AN Omnipod® DEVICE?
Non-Insulet patients will still have access to the Glooko® Mobile App and can share their data manually with clinics. However, clinicians will not be able to remotely view non-Insulet patient data.

UNDER THE CURRENT INSULET PROVIDED GLOOKO® SUBSCRIPTION MODEL, WILL I STILL HAVE ACCESS TO REMOTE PATIENT DATA?
Insulet Provided Glooko® account users will have access to remote patient data for all patient accounts associated with an Insulet device (Omnipod® devices and the Insulet user's associated BGM or CGM device) at any time within the entire history of the account. Providers will be able to view any data, including historical, within that account.
However, visibility will be limited for any non-Insulet patients. Non-Insulet patients will still have access to the Glooko Mobile App and can share their data manually with clinics. However, clinicians will not be able to remotely view non-Insulet patient data.
HOW CAN I REMOVE THIS RESTRICTION/VIEW NON-INSULET PATIENT DATA?
Insulet Provided Glooko® is a special partnership program between Insulet and Glooko, to provide a custom version of the Glooko platform to Insulet users. As part of our agreement with Insulet, all clinics accessing a sponsored Glooko subscription (offered by Insulet) should be limited to Insulet users only (Omnipod® devices and the Insulet user's associated BGM or CGM device).
