Canadian mobile providers are shutting down their 3G networks, beginning on March 31st 2026. As a result, Glooko Transmitters that rely on a 3G (mobile internet) connection will no longer function once the network is discontinued. If you currently use a Glooko Transmitter with a 3G connection, you will need to switch to an alternative method to continue uploading patient data.
This change is due to the nationwide 3G network shutdown and is outside of Glooko’s control.
Who is affected?
You are affected if:
- You use a Glooko Transmitter with a mobile (3G) internet connection
- Your transmitter is not connected via Ethernet
What happens when 3G is shut down?
After the shutdown:
- Glooko Transmitters using 3G will no longer be able to connect to the internet
- Data will no longer upload through the mobile connection
- You will need to use another method to upload patient data
What you need to do
To continue uploading data, choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Connect the Glooko Transmitter using Ethernet
You can continue using your existing Glooko Transmitter by connecting it directly to your network with an Ethernet cable.
Steps:
- Locate your Glooko Transmitter.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the transmitter to your clinic’s network/router.
- Ensure the transmitter has power and is connected to the network.
- Confirm that data uploads resume as expected.
This allows the transmitter to continue working without relying on the 3G mobile network.
Option 2: Use the Glooko Uploader software
You can instead upload device data directly through a computer using the Glooko Uploader software.
