For users who utilize smart insulin pens, Glooko will now help identify potential prime doses. The Glooko software will detect Prime doses that are 2 units or less within six minutes before another insulin injection. If more than six minutes has passed between the Prime dose and Injected dose, the Prime dose will display as injected. A prime dose is the expelling of a few units into the air before an injected dose, to ensure proper flow through the needle. Prime Detection will be enabled the first time you sync a compatible smart insulin pen.
With Prime Detection enabled, whenever a prime dose is detected, it will be excluded from your insulin statistics and graphs. Regardless of this detection, the dose will still be stored in your Glooko account.
