Overview
The Pregnancy Patient List provides a unified view of all pregnant patients across all diabetes types. Available exclusively to clinics with the Gestational Diabetes Package, this specialized dashboard allows you to utilize pregnancy-specific alerts, filters, and sorting for rapid triage.
By summarizing patient performance over a rolling 7-day window, the list enables your team to quickly identify high-risk patients, proactively adjust treatment plans, and easily spot missing data or syncing issues before a patient’s next appointment.
Accessing the Pregnancy View
If your clinic has the Gestational Diabetes Package enabled, you can access this view using the Patient List dropdown menu.
Simply click the dropdown and select Pregnancy.
Sticky Memory: Your selection is saved automatically! The system will remember your preference across your session, so if you navigate to a patient’s profile and back, you will return directly to the Pregnancy list.
Understanding the Dashboard Layout
To help you manage your workflow, the Pregnancy Patient List is split into two default sections:
1. Action Required This section automatically pulls in patients who need your immediate attention. A patient will appear here—and be marked with a vertical pink indicator—if they have:
An open Call Request.
New Pregnancy Alerts triggered since your last clinical review.
Note: Once all call requests are closed and the patient is marked as reviewed, they will move out of this section. If no patients need urgent attention, this section will display a "caught up" message!
2. All Other Patients Patients who are on track, have no active call requests, and have no new alerts since their last review will appear here.
Column Breakdown
The patient list includes several key columns designed to give you a snapshot of maternal health:
Patient: Displays patient name, Date of Birth, and app status.
Call: Displays an icon if the patient has submitted an active mobile call request.
Pregnancy Alerts: Displays active risk badges (Missing Data, Post-Meal Highs, and Fasting Highs).
EDD (Estimated Delivery Date): Shows the upcoming delivery date (sorted closest-to-date first). Note: This column will be blank once a mother transitions to postpartum.
Tags: Displays pregnancy-related tags.
Pregnancy Tag: Features a pregnancy icon and current gestational age. This is permanent while the pregnancy is active.
Postpartum Tag: Triggered automatically at 42 weeks or manually. Postpartum patients remain in this view for 48 hours before being routed to their standard diabetes-type list.
Care Program & Type: Shows the assigned care program and the patient's diabetes type.
Reviewed: Displays the time since the patient was last reviewed, color-coded for urgency.
Pregnancy Alerts Explained
The system evaluates clinical data on a rolling 7-day window. If a patient meets specific criteria, an alert badge will trigger. Alerts are displayed in order of recency. Hover over any alert badge for a tooltip showing the exact time it was triggered and how many readings were involved.
Fasting Highs: Triggered if 3 or more overnight fasting readings are ≥ 95 mg/dL (<5.3 mmol/L) within the last 7 days.
Post-Meal Highs: Triggered if 3 or more 1-hour postprandial readings for the same meal type (e.g., 3 breakfast readings) are ≥ 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) within the last 7 days.
Missing Data: Triggered if fewer than 19 blood glucose readings (with adjacent meal tags) are submitted in the last 7 days. Note: To prevent false alarms, this alert is muted for the first 7 days after a pregnancy is activated in the system.
How Alerts are Cleared: Alerts are automatically removed when the patient’s data in the last 7-day window no longer meets the trigger criteria. Moving a patient to "Postpartum" status immediately clears all active badges.
Reviewing Patients and Alert Logic
Keeping track of who has been triaged is easy with the Reviewed column. The column displays a timestamp of the last review with a helpful color indicator:
🟢 Green: Reviewed less than 4 days ago.
🟡 Yellow: Reviewed 4 to 7 days ago.
🔴 Red: Not reviewed in over 7 days.
(Hover over the timestamp to see exactly which clinician reviewed the patient and when).
Important Logic: Marking a patient as "Reviewed" sets a new baseline. The patient will be removed from the "Action Required" section, and the system will only look at new glucose readings submitted after that exact timestamp when calculating future alerts.
Managing Call Requests
If a patient requests a call via their mobile app, a Call Icon will appear in the Patient List.
To clear the request directly from the list, hover over the call icon and click the "X" (Close) button.
You can also resolve call requests from inside the patient's full summary profile.
Sorting and Filtering
Need a specific view? You can customize the list using powerful sorting and filtering tools:
Filter By: Pregnancy Alerts (Missing Data, Fasting Highs, Post-Meal Highs), Diabetes Type, and Tags.
Sort By: Patient Name, Call Requests, Pregnancy Alerts (by timestamp), EDD, Care Program, Diabetes Type, and Reviewed status.
Note: If you apply custom sorting or filtering, the standard "Action Required" sectioning will temporarily disappear to accommodate your custom view. However, the vertical pink indicator will remain visible next to any patient who needs urgent attention. Click "Clear Sorting" to return to the default multilevel view.
