How do I clear my browser cache and temporary files?
A quick way to clear the cache on any browser (except Safari) is to hold CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE. You'll then choose to delete the cache or temporary internet files.
Microsoft Edge:
- Click on the Menu button (three dots in the upper right hand corner) ⋯
- Select Delete Browsing History
- Select the time frame All Time
- Click Clear Now
- Be sure to check the option to Preserve Favorites website data
- Be sure to un-check Cookies and website data
Google Chrome:
- Select the Menu button (three dots in the upper right-hand corner) ⋮
- Select Delete Browsing Data
- For time range, select All time
- Make sure "Cached image and files" is checked (you can uncheck the other boxes for "Browsing history" and "Cookies and other site data")
- Click Delete Data
- Relaunch your Google Chrome web browser
Safari:
- Open the Safari app.
- Click History in the top menu bar.
- Select Clear History.
- Choose how far back you want your history cleared from the pop-up menu, then click Clear History
Firefox:
- Click the Menu button (three horizontal bars in the upper-right corner) ≡
- Choose Settings
- Select the Privacy and Security
- In the section Browsing Data click Clear browsing data
- For time range, select Everything
- Make sure the Cache and Cookie boxes are checked
- Click the Clear button.
