The Glooko Transmitter can be connected to the internet via a cellular network or an ethernet cable. As many 3G networks are shutting down, clinics with active usage of a 3G Transmitter will receive a 4G modem to ensure continued connectivity for uploads.
This article describes how you can identify the network connection and strength of the Glooko Transmitter and make decisions regarding the best possible internet connection accordingly.
Common Network Issues

- General Connectivity and Network Settings Errors: Are you experiencing general network connectivity issues (cellular or ethernet) or are you receiving an error on your Transmitter indicating that the network settings should be checked? Cellular Network Connection
If the Transmitter does not detect an ethernet cable, the Transmitter will default to a cellular connection utilizing the pre-installed SIM card and antenna.
To learn more about the cellular network connection of your Transmitter:

- Tap Network
If you are experiencing network issues, a first step would be to relocate the Transmitter to allow for a better connection. If network issues persist, consider an Ethernet connection.
Ethernet Connection
When an ethernet cable is connected, the Transmitter will automatically attempt to connect to the internet via ethernet. If you would like to configure the ethernet connection manually or need to find additional information, like the Mac Address:
- Tap Menu ()
- Tap Settings
- If prompted, enter the Service Code set during initial setup
- Tap Network Settings
- Tap Ethernet Settings
If the configured Ethernet network is unavailable, the Glooko Transmitter will automatically revert to a mobile network connection. Please work together with your IT Department to ensure that specific URLs and ports are allowed through any firewalls within the network. 4G Modems
In order to support clinicians who utilize 3G connectivity for Transmitter uploads, we will send each affected clinic with active Transmitter usage a 4G modem to ensure continued connectivity for their uploads.
