How do I use the Glooko® Food Library?

Great Question!

You can use Glooko’s integrated food database to look up the number of carbs in the foods you eat and then add the nutritional information to your notes. Every food event you create is included in your History and Day View. Recently used and favorite food items will appear on the Food screen for easier access.

Let's find out how to:


Access the Food Screen

  • Go to Quick Add or Add an Event
  • Click on the green Food icon (fork and knife). This will take you to the Food screen.

    


Search the Food Database

From the Food Screen:

  • Click Search (top).
  • Enter the food name.
  • Click Search (bottom right).
  • Select the food from the list to view its detailed nutritional information.

    


Adjust the Portion Sizes

From the Food Details screen:

  • Click Servings.
  • Select the type of serving from the options presented.
  • Scroll to adjust the serving size – nutritional information will readjust proportionally on the Food Details screen.
  • Click Done (top right) to return to the Food Details screen.

    


Specify your Favorite Foods

From the Food Details screen:

  • Click the star icon (top right) – it will turn from white to yellow.
  • To remove the favorite, click the star icon again – it will turn from yellow to white.
  • Once the food is favorited, it will be visible in the 'Favorites' section of the Food screen.

    


Log Food Entry to Your Notes

From the Food Details screen:

  • Click Log (top right)– you will be redirected to the Add Food screen.

From the Add Food screen:

  • Click Done (top right) to log the food event in your History and Day.

    


Add Another Food Item

Before logging the event, you can also choose to add another food item.

From the Add Food screen:

  • Click Add Another Food. This will redirect you to the Food screen.
  • Follow the instruction to search the food database and select the other food item.
  • Click Log (top right).
  • The carb amounts for all the foods added to one food event will be calculated and the total amount logged in your History and Day View.

    


Enter a Custom Food Item

From the Food screen:

  • Click the + button (top right).
  • Click Name. Type in the food name. Click Done (top left).
  • Click Carbs, Calories, Fat, and/or Protein. Type in the grams or calories consumed. Click Done (top left).
  • Click Done again (top left) to log the food note in your History and Day View.

    


Edit a Food Event 

From the History screen:

  • Select the event.
  • Click on the date and time. Scroll to adjust the date and time. Click Done.
  • Click Name. Type in a new food name. Click Done.
  • Click Carbs, Calories, Fat, and/or Protein. Type in the grams or calories consumed. Click Done.
  • Click Done (top right) to log the edited note into your History and Day View.

     


Delete a Food Event

From the History screen:

  • Select the note.
  • Click Delete Food. Click Yes.

You can also delete an event in your History by placing a finger to the right of the note and swiping to the left. A red Delete button will appear, click on it.
