How do I upload a Medtronic device to the Glooko® Kiosk?

We strive to make your Glooko Kiosk Android tablets ready to go right out of the box. To learn how to download Medtronic devices to your Glooko Kiosk, see below.

You have two options, depending on how your patient currently downloads his or her device to a CareLink Personal account or your CareLink Pro account:


Upload to Glooko Kiosk with a CareLink USB device

    1. From the Kiosk Home Screen, tap Start Here.
    2. Scroll until you see Medtronic.  Tap Medtronic to open the Download New Data screen.
    3. Tap CareLink USB.
    4. Insert the micro end of the micro-to-female cable into the charging port of the Kiosk.
    5. Plug the CareLink USB device into the female end of the cable.  Tap Next.
    6. Type in the 6-digit serial number found on the back of the Medtronic device. Tap Done and Next. 
    7. Enter the patient's first name and tap Continue.
    8. Enter the patient's last name and tap Continue.
    9. Tap Select DOB to enter your patient’s DOB and tap Continue, followed by Continue again
    10. The email address field is important because it allows your patient to have access to their synced diabetes data at home via the Glooko mobile or web app. If your patient doesn’t have an email address, no worries, just tap Continue.
    11. If your patient has a CareLink account then tap Log into CareLink and proceed to Step 23.  If your patient does not have a CareLink account then tap Create CareLink Account.
    12. You will be brought to the Medtronic CareLink Terms of Use page, once you have read and agreed to the Terms of Use, you can place a checkmark next to each Privacy Statement by tapping each box.  Tap Accept.
    13. You will create the patient's CareLink profile (separate from their Glooko account).
    14. You will now Create a Username, which contains 4-16 letters or numbers and does not include spaces.
    15. Enter a password, which contains 8-32 letter or numbers that are case sensitive. You will need to confirm the password by entering it again.
    16. Select a security question and enter the answer to the security question.
    17. Finally, you will enter the patient’s identifying information including their first name, last name, address, phone number, email address (unlike when you are creating a Glooko account for the patient, this email field is required), gender, age, and finally, their diabetes type.  Tap Submit.
    18. Glooko has now created a CareLink account for the patient. This process only needs to be done the first time the patient’s Medtronic device is synced using Glooko Kiosk. From here on out, Glooko will recognize the patient’s device serial number for faster and easier syncing. Tap Continue.
    19. You may now choose to Print a Report via your wireless printer, Sync another device, or tap Finished to complete your use of the Glooko Kiosk for this patient.

Upload to Glooko Kiosk with MiniMed Connect

  1. From the Kiosk Home Screen, tap Start Here.
  2. Scroll down and tap Medtronic to open the Download New Data screen.
  3. Tap MiniMed Connect.
  4. Type in the 6-digit serial number found on the back of the Medtronic device. Tap Done and Next.
  5. Enter the patient's first name and tap Continue.
  6. Enter the patient's last name and tap Continue.
  7. Tap Select DOB to enter your patient’s DOB and tap Continue, then Continue again. 
  8. The email address field is important because it allows your patient to have access to his or her synced diabetes data at home via the Glooko mobile or web app. If your patient does not have an email address, just tap Continue.
  9. If your patient has a CareLink account, tap Log into CareLink and proceed to Step 12.  If your patient does not have a CareLink account, tap Create CareLink Account.
  10. After you have read and agreed to the Medtronic Terms of Use, place a checkmark beside each Privacy Statement by tapping each box. Tap Accept.
  11. Next, create the patient's CareLink profile (separate from his or her Glooko account).
    • Create a Username, which must contain 4-16 letters or numbers and cannot include spaces.
    • Enter a password, which must contains 8-32 letter or numbers that are case sensitive. You will need to confirm the password by entering it again.
    • Select a security question and enter the answer to the security question.
    • Enter the patient’s identifying information, including first name, last name, address, phone number, email address, gender, age and diabetes type. Tap Submit.
  12. This completes the CareLink account setup process. Tap Continue.
    NOTE: This process only needs to be done the first time the patient’s Medtronic device is synced using Glooko Kiosk. Going forward, Glooko will recognize the patient’s device serial number for faster and easier syncing. 
  13. You may now choose to Print a Report via your wireless printer, Sync another device, or tap Finished to complete your use of the Glooko Kiosk for this patient.
